One of the most popular and accessible routes in the park, the Bear Valley Trail leads through a dense riparian woodland to picturesque Divide Meadow and many other amazing hikes. The enjoyable walk from the Lodge to Divide Meadow is a quintessential Point Reyes experience. If you’ve never hiked at the national seashore, this is the perfect introduction. The single track trail from the Lodge takes you to the Visitor’s Center and the Bear Valley trail, which is broad and gently sloping. It’s perfect for sharing a conversation with a hiking companion, winding through shady forest to a broad sloping meadow. Stop at the Bear Valley visitor center and they can point you in the direction of other close by hikes or even the beach.
